What are vergence eye movements?

The function of vergence eye movements is to point the foveae of both eyes at a near object.

This means that the two eyes rotate in opposite directions (disjunctively): the right eye to the left and the left eye to the right when converging on a near object.

All other eye movements are conjugate.
